On September 26^th , 1986 Castlevania was released in Japan. Over twenty one years later NECA and Konami got together to make a really nice set of toys based on the long running popular video game series.

There are four figures in the set; Simon Belmont, Dracula, Alucard, and the succubus. And they’re all really nice looking. Especially the Succubus, who has a removable top. The sculpts are amazing and the attention to detail is amazing. The same style and and design quality thats to be expected from NECA. The packaging does leave a little to be desired though. There isn’t anything wrong with it per say, its a standard blister packaging. Its shows off how nice the figures look and also shows off the nifty accessories they come with. Everything is clearly shown…but the I personally don’t think the boxes are great for display themselves.

Displaying the figures out of the box is not as easy as it would seem. The amazing attention to detail limits the way you pose them. For example Dracula’s coat and cape limit how you can pose him. As do the cuffs on Alucard’s jacket. And the succubus’s poseability is limited by the fact she has five points of articulation…but her top comes off. Wait…does that count as six then?

All in all they are really nice looking. Not too many option when it comes to posing them, but what you get them set in a pose you like they look great. A great addition to any collection. Especially if you’re a Castlevania fan. Oh…um…and the succubus’s top comes off.
